HUGHES CENTER OFFERS ITS CUSTOMERS A UNIQUE HUMAN RESOURCE
02/15/2012
Las Vegas, NV (February 15, 2012) – As the corporate concierge at Hughes Center, Jaci Zweig is a unique human resource.
Hughes Center, Nevada’s largest and leading Class A office district celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is the only local business park to offer a full-time, on-site concierge service, according to Bob Boykin, managing director for leasing in Las Vegas and Houston for Hughes Center owner Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC.
“Jaci is a great example of what makes Hughes Center unique. For a company that prides itself on offering the highest level of customer service, Jaci is a very valuable resource for the thousands of people who work here every day,” Boykin said. “She has been a concierge in Las Vegas for 29 years. She knows Las Vegas inside and out. She helps our customers with everything from airline and dinner reservations to zoo information and everything in between.”
Zweig remains modest about her local knowledge and ability to help businesses based in Hughes Center, which is home to dozens of the top law firms and best-known corporations and professional firms in the state. To many who work there, she suspects they think of her as “the lady in the lobby with the great desk that says ‘good morning’ and ‘enjoy your evening’ to them every day.”
But those who have utilized her services know she’s much more. Keeping with the origins of the word concierge, Zweig considers herself a “doer of all things,” adding the disclaimer “within legal and moral limitations.”
“My goal as Hughes Center’s corporate concierge is to become a source of information, and when possible, to ease their busy schedules by coordinating a variety of services which are frequently needed by professionals. I strive to make their day a little easier, so they can concentrate on business,” she said. “Whether it’s making a show or dinner reservation, coordinating a company function or finding a rare autographed first-edition book, I welcome the challenge or request.”
Over the years, Zweig has also become something of a pioneer in her profession. She helped create one of the first concierge jobs in Las Vegas and was an innovator of the VIP room concept in local hotels and casinos. She was a founding member of the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association and earned her gold keys to Les Clefs d’Or International Concierge Society. After 15 years in the hotel-casino industry, she was asked to create a corporate concierge position for Hughes Center. As the needs varied from hotel to corporate concierge, she founded the Nevada Chapter of the National Concierge Association.
“I wouldn’t call myself the most experienced concierge in all of Las Vegas, as there are others who I believe are more experienced in some areas than I am,” she said. “I am just one of the longest-working ones in Las Vegas.”
Her diverse background includes being a graduate and former instructor at Purdue University. When she first moved to Las Vegas, she said she worked in the airline industry for eight years “before deciding it was time to get my head out of the clouds.”
Today, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. every weekday, people who visit and work at Hughes Center will find Zweig at the concierge desk located in the lobby of the Wells Fargo Tower, at 3800 Howard Hughes Parkway. Her services are provided by Crescent and are complimentary for businesses based in Hughes Center.
