DENVER, June 24, 2013 – Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC recently dedicated a 1,200 square foot card-accessed bicycle facility to satisfy customer requests for an amenity to facilitate bicycling to work from the Denver Metro and Front Range area to Johns Manville Plaza and 707 17th Street office buildings in Denver City Center. Customers responded immediately with nearly 140 now registered to use the bicycle room that features small storage lockers, bike hanging racks and large bike lockers in which customers can lock bicycles during the workday.

The success of the bicycle room and growing awareness of the bicycle to work culture in Denver has Crescent management already considering adding additional bicycle storage space for Denver’s Bike to Work Day June 26th. “Within days of announcing our new bike room, we had 50 building customers registered and topped 100 registrations in a month,” said Ashton Steele, senior property manager of Johns Manville Plaza and 707 17th Street. “We have space for more customer bicycles in the bike room. However, for Bike to Work Day, we are adding some additional bicycle racks to handle a large one-day increase in bike traffic.” In 2012, Denver’s Bike to Work Day attracted 27,000 bike commuters.

The bike facility is another element of renovations underway at the Denver City Center location. Crescent is working to add new retail space, renovating lobby entrances and upgrading one of the larger downtown outdoor plazas that connects Johns Manville Plaza and 707 17th Street. The plaza will feature more open space, enhanced lighting and additional seating for customers to enjoy outdoor dining and entertainment. Crescent expects to complete the outdoor plaza renovations and add significant retail options during the summer.

“Enjoying the outdoors is a major part of Denver’s culture, whether dining, entertaining, running, hiking or biking,” said Steele who enjoys his 36-mile roundtrip bicycle commute using Denver’s bicycling trails and bike lanes.
