FORT WORTH, TX, (December 21, 2010) – Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC recognized students from Houston Independent School District’s Stevenson Elementary School with a Christmas pizza lunch held in the food court of 5 Greenway Plaza. Stevenson Elementary’s choir, drum and dance troupe played, sang and danced to musical selections from The Nutcrakcer for Crescent employees and customers in Greenway Plaza.

Stevenson student Tommy Diaz received special recognition from Crescent. Diaz created a design that Crescent used for its 2010 holiday greeting cards. Diaz was awarded a $100 savings bond, a certificate and a framed copy of the holiday card featuring his original artwork.

Crescent conducted a nationwide art contest with its partner schools to select the company’s official holiday greeting card. Diaz created the holiday art design in an after-school art program sponsored by Crescent’s “Faces of Change” program. “It is an honor for Greenway Plaza that a student from our adopted school, Stevenson Elementary, won the art contest,” said Kirk O’Neal of Crescent. “We have a great relationship with the principal, teachers and students. It was a treat for the Crescent employees and our customers to watch the students perform selections from The Nutcracker.”

Founded in 1997 by Crescent Real Estate Equities, “The Faces of Change” program partners Crescent properties with local elementary schools with limited resources in order to improve the quality of education and the educational experience for children in the community. “Faces of Change” currently supports seven schools in cities across the nation, including Houston.

Stevenson Elementary is the adopted school for Crescent’s Greenway Plaza office park. “I cannot tell you who had more fun – the students, the Crescent customers or our own ‘Crescent elves’ who helped Santa Claus serve the pizza lunch and distribute goodie bags of Christmas candy and school supplies,” said Donna Ross of Crescent. Ross and O’Neal manage the “Faces of Change” relationship with Stevenson Elementary. Crescent provides resources that supplement the teaching curriculum for teachers and students at Stevenson Elementary.
